Senad Huseinagic is the general director of the Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica. He is a public health professional with over 20 years of experience in the field.
Areas of his scientific and professional interest are as follows: health economics, menagement of the organization, health care reform, family medicine development, health policy and strategy design and implementation, health legislation, comparative research of health care systems, project management, health promotion, health care management, as well as environmental health.
He twice held the position of director of the Public Health institute Zenica, and was Head of Department in the institute two times as well. Before this he was a physician in the Medical center Zenica.
Dr. Huseinagić served as an expert advisor and working group member in multiple projects conducted by both domestic organizations, such as the Federal Ministry of Health and international organizations such as the World Bank and UNDP. The projects dealt with public health, medical and socioeconomic issues. Some of the latest projects he worked on are: “The Development of Health Strategy for Zenica-Doboj Canton”, “Revision of Strategy of Zenica-Doboj canton”, “HSEP – Health Sector Enhancement Project” I and II for BiH, “Project Public Health”, “Strengthening Public Health Institutions in BiH” and many others. Within international consultancy work he took part in the “EU-China Social Security Reform Co-operation Project”, as well as “Capacity Building of Health Insurance Fund in Serbia”. Overall he worked on 38 projects. He published five expert books, numerous articles in medical and expert publications, and held dozens of medical congress and symposium presentations. Dr. Huseinagić has very good experience in training process as manager, trainer and leader of seminars as well as educator, lecturer and facilitator, participating in 12 educational events. He is a member of several professional bodies, such as The Association of Social Medicine-Public Health BiH, where he held the position of president, and EUPHA – European Union of Public Health Associations. Over the course of his career he attended numerous trainings all over the world regarding health management and administration. He is also socially engaged in his local community, serving as a member and president of several organizations dealing in a wide number of subjects, ranging from sports to civil protection service. He speaks fluent English.
He earned his medical degree and specialization in Public Health from the Medical Faculty Sarajevo. In 2013 he obtained his degree as a Master of Medical Sciences.
